My love of knowledge and wisdom shows, thus my professional path in the field of education has suited me wholly. As a teacher of English Language Arts, working with adolescents has enabled me to experience teaching as relationship building; when a solid rapport is built with one's students they can be taught anything beyond a specific content. With that in mind, teaching is more than a job; it is a lifetime career. The life of a teacher is one that I live daily and take pride in as I witness my students growing not only academically, but also as human beings. Aiding in evolving and growing as human beings makes me a key individual in my students' lives, as they are in mine. Together we grow, evolve, and learn from one another to make each day just as important as the days to come.

I spent the first two years of my undergraduate studies at Southeast Missouri State University and then transferred schools and obtained my B. A. in English Education at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. I completed my M. A. Ed. in Curriculum Design and Instruction at McKendree University and am a member of the Education Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi. I also co-advise the Tiger Yearbook at Edwardsville High School with Mrs. Amanda Thrun.
